INFO Trevor is a Belmont of the House of Belmont, which means that from a young age on, he was trained as a monster hunter and taught that it is his duty to protect Wallachians from the things that go bump in the night. The Belmonts were excommunicated by the Church when he was twelve and burnt together with the Belmont Estate. Trevor is the only survivor and the excommunication and murder of his entire family at the hands of the Church and the very people they'd sworn to protect - and often given their lives to protect - have left a lasting impact on him.

At the start of the show, Trevor has been roaming Wallachia with no sense of purpose or shame, drowning himself in alcohol, likely as a way to numb himself to the horrors he's witnessed. He's defeated and seems to have given up all notions of purpose and duty, claiming not to care about anything or anyone (but where to get some food and another drink). He's misanthropic, blaming the people of Wallachia for his family's fate, unwilling to extend protection to them given the spectacular way that has backfired for his family. He's deeply hurt, bitter, cynical and "sad all the time", all of which he hides under a veneer of uncaring and unaffected drunkenness. While Trevor won't go out of his way to kill himself, the prospect of dying holds no particular fear for him.

Despite his cynicism and trauma and despite all attempts to drown himself in alcohol, Trevor is not quite capable of complete apathy - he finds himself helping a Speaker against his better judgment and joins Sypha and Alucard in the quest to kill Dracula to end the genocide. Through his interactions with them, he develops a renewed sense of purpose, although he remains affected by the horrors he's witnessed and the trauma of his childhood.
